2009

After ten years of exchanging ideas and skills with artists in Senegal I am working on an installation to reflect this experience.I will be looking for a venue to create an installation of the work towards the end of 2009.

The initial installation in 1996 which marked the beginning of my journey, used my old cooker and life in the Casamance as inspiration and was developed during a one month residency in Havant Arts Centre, in the same year I exhibited the work in the Museum (C. R. D. S ) in Saint Louis, Senegal.

I am continuing to develop the inter-active website to show my current work , including photographs “Through the Lens” these photographs explore my view of the world through the digital camera with the help of Photoshop.

Through my work with Artscape and my own art therapy work I have become interested in the difference between the role of art as therapy and art therapy. I have been looking at how these notions apply to my own work and that of others and the opportunities this allows for dialogue both verbally and visually.
